My healing journey began during a transformative time—2020, when New Zealand experienced its first COVID lockdown. This period of uncertainty awakened a strong desire to explore my own health and well-being on a much deeper level.
As I faced the challenges typical of lockdowns, I could no longer overlook the health issues that were limiting my potential. This was a turning point in my life, triggering a determined quest for self-discovery and holistic wellness. I decided to delve into herbal medicine and naturopathy. Yet, despite my efforts, something significant was still missing from my journey.

While immersing myself in these practices, I realized the urgent need to reconnect with my cultural roots. This realization led me to study tikanga Māori, a vital cultural practice that helped me rediscover my whakapapa (ancestry, a journey I am most certainly still on) and my indigenous history. During this journey, I encountered Romiromi, a traditional Māori healing method that I resonated deeply with.
Romiromi represents a holistic approach to healing, incorporating both physical and spiritual elements to foster well-being. Intrigued by this ancient practice, I embarked on my formal training in Romiromi in Rotorua, New Zealand—the ancestral land of my people: Ngāti Whakaue, Ngāti Tūhoerangi, and Ngāti Rangiwewehi.
Under the mentorship of Wikitoria Oman, I enriched my understanding of Romiromi. As I learned about its principles, I discovered the crucial connection I had been seeking, tying my physical health to the land I stood on and the cultural wisdom that had been passed down through generations.
Studies show that individuals who connect with their cultural roots report a 40% increase in overall life satisfaction. For me, this was an eye-opening statistic.
By merging my background in herbal medicine and naturopathy with Romiromi, I have created a distinctive practice that honours my ancestors while celebrating my rich cultural identity.
For me, Romiromi is not merely a method of healing; it fosters relationships between people and the land, cultivating a sense of belonging and nurturing the spirit. My practice encourages clients to embark on their own journeys of self-discovery and healing inspired by Māori traditions.
I aim to create a welcoming environment for those seeking healing and well-being in their lives. I believe that every individual deserves a chance to explore their health and uncover the depth of their history.
A fascinating statistic reveals that people who engage in holistic health practices experience a 60% improvement in mental health outcomes.

As I advance in my practice, I embodie principles of compassion, understanding, and respect—deeply rooted in Māori culture and my training. My holistic approach emphasizes the interconnectedness of physical health, emotional balance, and spiritual connection.
I hope that my story inspires those at a crossroads of health and identity. It encourages everyone to reflect on their histories, seek healing, and connect with their cultures. In a world that often prioritizes busyness, my path urges us to slow down, contemplate, and honor the heritage that shapes us.
Through my practice, I invite others to embrace the healing potential of their ancestral narratives. Each healing session resonates with the wisdom of my ancestors, allowing my clients to feel that same connection.
My journey into Romiromi is a story of resilience, cultural rediscovery, and a passion for healing. My commitment to blending traditional Māori practices with modern wellness approaches highlights the incredible wisdom that emerges when past and present come together.
Continuing to share my knowledge and skills, I am set to make a significant impact on my community, encouraging others to begin their own journeys of self-discovery and healing. With every client I meet, I bring the wisdom of my ancestors into their lives, fostering community wellness that honors both heritage and individual identity.
I invite you to join me on this journey, to explore your own well-being, and to celebrate the unique tapestry of your life experience.
